Success of Artists Pavilion Results in Early Applicants for New Forest Show 2008
The Artists Pavilion was a huge success in its first year at The New Forest & Hampshire County Show in July, resulting in the organiser Gervase Gregory receiving applications from local artists flowing in for the 2008 Show.
The New Forest area has a large number of artists working in a whole range of mediums, and there will no doubt be quite a rush on to secure a place in next year’s Pavilion, as numbers are limited.
This opportunity is open to artists, both amateur and professional, who live in or near to the New Forest or are members of one of the many New Forest Art Clubs. A limit has been set of around 300 pictures and 30 wood or stone works. This year, even under extreme adverse conditions, 132 exhibitors displayed their work in the Art Pavilion, and many were delighted to be able to sell some of their work during the show with sales reaching over £3,000.
